To competition organizers
WHEA sanctioned competitions can be organized all around the world by the national, regional or local organizers, who have signed a contract with WHEA. Depending on the country size and the opportunities of the organizer, we might grant exclusively right for certain area or country, but again we can also give possibilities to several organizers in one country if the geographical etc situation demands it.

SUGGESTIONS TO COMPETITION ORGANIZERS:
Schedule:
Aim to publish yearly calendar latest on January and inform the competitions to WHEA also.
Please note, that organizing a competition is hard work and needs planning, marketing, funds and help, so start the work early as possible and try to get as many helping hands as possible.
Safety suggestions for first aid readiness and for the prevention of injuries and accidents.
The organizer must note the following actions in competitions and other happenings as the aim is to reduce extra risks of injuries or accidents.
- The equipment in use must be manufactured with quality and they need to be planned to sustain its use.
- The event / warm-up performing areas must be clean from dust, sand, fluids etc to minimize the slipping possibility.
- The static list areas must be firm enough to avoid slipping and in the other hand in the moving events it is good to note, that the platform is functioning well for the event – for example if the floor is too rough it migh cause too fast stops in the moving / pushing events.
- The referee has always the right to stop a performance or the competition, reduce a single event from the competition etc if the performance risks the healt of the athlete or if the platform or equipment is not safe enough or proper for the competition. The referee has the right to stop the athlete from performing if the performance is clearly having a bigger than normal risk of injury if the athlete is not able to judge his/her ability to perform the event technically or physically.
FIRST AID
In WHEA sanctioned events it is the organizer´s responsibility to organize the first aid.
WHEA suggestion is, that in every competition there is a health professional taking care of the first aid. For example in the WHEA World Championships there is always a doctor or a nurse working in the crew just in case.
In severe injuries always call for help.
WHEA suggest the organizers to have at least the following materials available for the first aid.
- cold packs / spray
- bandaids & bandage
- desinfection spray or similar.
- pressure straps
- when organizing a competition it is also good to note, what support the venue offers – for example the location of trolleys, defibrillator, etc.
The athletes are competing with their own risk in the competitions, but it is the organizers duty to avoid extra risks and if an athlete is injured at the competition, the organizer is duty is to help the athlete to get proper first aid & it is also good behavior to check the situation of the athlete afterwards.
